Endless Lawn XIX

Here’s one from a summer past. Mack ponders the nature of time and how we end up seeing echoes of ourselves (echoes of ourselves).

27 Acres

Five years ago was a portrait

One that’s forever caught up in time

The old man asked if I’d help

He was offering me a part in symphony

but it was different

Different in a way when life involves

a 74 inch cut Dixie chopper

and it advertises “world’s fastest mower”

Five years have come and gone

We’ve made some big changes

My snapshot memories almost hit to date of where I’m at when I look at my gallery

Plus or minus a day or two

It’s weird how we find ourselves in the same places

at almost the same day and time each year

74 inch cut on a 27 acre property

with some woods takes five and a half hours

full throttle on the world’s fastest mower

For Max who’s ten and already on the big dawg
