Endless Lawn IX

I tried looking up dreams about long teeth, but couldn’t find much. Is it just me dreaming about my teeth getting long? I thought it was a common phenomenon. I found articles about teeth falling out, new teeth growing in, other people’s teeth, going to the dentist, breaking teeth…. No long dream teeth.

Anyway, here’s the next installment of Endless Lawn:

Pop Teeth

In a dream

teeth grow like ribbons-

long and worry-some,

but beautifully white.

Reaching the grass,

digging into the soil.

Here’s the molten

core of the planet.

Now here are the waves.

The ocean swirls.

Salt froth replaces the tongue

and licks the long dream teeth.

The atmosphere yields to enamel

like enamel to Coke.

“Dream teeth will reach

Mars by March,”

announces a smiling anchor.

But before the dream teeth

can probe the darkest

distances of the universe

I wake up.
It’s time to mow the lawn.

Never stops growing, does it?
